On the fourth anniversary of the liberation of Bucha from Russian occupiers, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and First Lady Olena Zelenska honored the memory of Ukrainians who were killed and tortured by Russian invaders in February–March 2022.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Olena Zelenska placed candles at the memorial located on the grounds of the Church of St. Andrew the First-Called and All Saints of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

The memory of the fallen Ukrainians was also honored by leaders and representatives of the parliaments of Austria, Albania, Belgium, Bulgaria, the United Kingdom, Estonia, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Germany, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Finland, Croatia, the European Parliament, and the parliamentary assemblies of NATO and the OSCE.
Residents of Bucha also placed candles at the memorial. The President and First Lady spoke with them and expressed their condolences over the loss of their relatives and loved ones.
Russian invaders held Bucha under occupation for 33 days: from February 27 to March 31, 2022. During this time, 561 civilians were killed, including 12 children.
