In Dublin, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and First Lady Olena Zelenska met with the Ukrainian community.
Key topics of discussion included the importance of unity, joint steps with partners to advance peace, and Ukraine’s European integration track.

“An important visit to Ireland – the first by the President of Ukraine since the restoration of Ukraine‘s independence. A strong signal that we are truly building new relations with Ireland, and above all, this is driven by the large number of Ukrainians here,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
Representatives of the Ukrainian community expressed their gratitude to the Head of State for his ongoing work to strengthen the country and for his efforts to advance peace.
The President shared updates on negotiations and joint work with partners in the United States, Europe, and other countries around the world.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy focused particular attention on efforts to open negotiation clusters on Ukraine’s path to European Union membership, especially in the context of Ireland’s upcoming Presidency of the Council of the EU in the second half of next year.

“The European Commission recognizes that we can open three clusters. Three clusters – that’s half. We have done everything necessary for this. And everyone understands that by the end of this year, we will have completed all the technical steps to open all six clusters. This is also recognized by all. Ireland’s Presidency will be important. In the first half of 2026, Cyprus will hold the Presidency, followed by Ireland. We definitely want to open clusters during Cyprus’s Presidency, and the next step will be their closure. And we would like to achieve this under Ireland’s Presidency,” the Head of State emphasized.
The discussion also covered support for Ukrainian athletes abroad and the implementation of educational programs for Ukrainian Saturday and Sunday schools. The President instructed the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to address these issues and to resolve them.
