The President Thanked the Leaders of States and Organizations for Their Congratulations on Ukraine’s Independence Day

Ukraine marked the 34th anniversary of its restored independence, with foreign leaders extending their congratulations to our country on the occasion. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed his gratitude for the warm wishes and for the support of Ukraine.

Prime Minister of Australia Anthony Albanese emphasized that his country, along with partners, supports Ukraine and advances efforts aimed at achieving a just peace.

President of Austria Alexander Van der Bellen assured of continued support to Ukraine and wished it a peaceful future.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev expressed support for Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, noting that Azerbaijan will continue to provide the necessary humanitarian support and assistance to the friendly Ukrainian people.

President of Albania Bajram Begaj confirmed his country’s unwavering support for Ukraine on its path toward European integration.

Pope Leo XIV noted that he prays for the people of Ukraine, who are suffering from war. His Holiness implores the Lord that the sounds of weapons may give way to dialogue, opening the path to peace.

President of Vietnam Lương Cường stressed that his country highly values its partnership and cooperation with Ukraine and wishes to further develop bilateral collaboration in various fields.

President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan wished the people of Ukraine peace and prosperity and expressed hope for strengthening bilateral relations.

President of Estonia Alar Karis highlighted his respect for Ukraine’s strength and courage, assuring that Ukraine’s determination and bravery to remain free and to fight for this right inspire hope far beyond its borders.

King Felipe VI of Spain emphasized support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and wished peace to the Ukrainian people.

Prime Minister of Spain Pedro Sánchez reaffirmed that his country will stand with Ukraine in defending its freedom and in the pursuit of a just and lasting peace for as long as it takes.

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev wished Ukraine peace and prosperity, expressing hope for strengthened bilateral cooperation.

Prime Minister of Canada Mark Carney stressed that his country was among the first to recognize Ukraine’s independence 34 years ago. He assured Ukraine of Canada’s unwavering support in defending its sovereignty.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Chinese leader Xi Jinping for his congratulations and highlighted Ukraine’s interest in developing long-term bilateral dialogue based on mutual respect in the interests of peace, stability, and prosperity.

President of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs emphasized that Ukraine’s resilience and its fight for freedom and territorial integrity against Russian aggression inspire the world.

President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda assured that his country will always stand with Ukraine, providing assistance through every available means: military, political, and financial; it will also always support Ukraine’s independence and territorial integrity.

President of Malawi Lazarus Chakwera expressed hope for the further strengthening and prosperity of bilateral relations between the two states.

King Mohammed VI of Morocco wished peace and prosperity to the Ukrainian people and stressed the importance of enhancing bilateral ties.

President of Moldova Maia Sandu, in her video address, stated that her country will make every effort to remain a strong, reliable, and safe neighbor of Ukraine.

King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands expressed his respect for the bravery and resilience of the Ukrainian people, as well as their perseverance and hope, which inspire many around the world. He assured that the Netherlands will support Ukraine for as long as necessary.

Prime Minister of the Netherlands Dick Schoof emphasized that his country will continue supporting Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression, as Ukraine’s security is also the security of all of Europe, including the Netherlands.

Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Merz commended the courage with which Ukraine defends itself from Russian attacks. He emphasized that, both on Ukraine’s Independence Day and in the future, Germany will stand firmly by the side of the Ukrainian people.

Prime Minister of New Zealand Christopher Luxon underlined that his country’s support for Ukraine remains unwavering.

President of North Macedonia Gordana Siljanovska Davkova expressed unequivocal support for Ukraine and hope for a just and lasting peace in the near future.

President of Poland Karol Nawrocki noted that Ukraine’s struggle against Russian aggression is a heroic defense of the core values of European civilization: freedom, democracy, and the defense of human dignity.

President of Portugal Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa expressed his country’s support and solidarity with Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression. He stressed that Portugal will not change its position, values, or principles and will continue to support Ukraine.

President of the Republic of Korea Lee Jae Myung expressed hope for the swift restoration of peace in Ukraine and the country’s post-war recovery.

President of Romania Nicușor Dan noted that his nation will remain a reliable partner for Ukraine both in the field of security cooperation and in reconstruction and European integration.

King Charles III of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland expressed his admiration for the courage and strong spirit of the Ukrainian people. His Majesty emphasized that Ukraine and the United Kingdom must continue to work together to achieve a just and lasting peace.

Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Keir Starmer assured that his country stands with Ukraine today and will always stand by its side.

President of the United States Donald Trump honored the fight of the Ukrainian people and expressed his belief in their future as an independent nation. He noted that the United States supports the negotiation process aimed at achieving a durable and lasting peace, ending the bloodshed, and safeguarding Ukraine’s sovereignty and dignity. Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine is grateful to the United States for its support and is confident that, through joint efforts, this war can be brought to an end and true peace achieved.

President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan wished Ukraine peace and prosperity.

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov wished Ukraine prosperity and continued success.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed hope that relations between Ukraine and Uzbekistan, based on traditional friendship and long-term cooperation, will continue to grow in the common interests of both peoples.

President of Finland Alexander Stubb assured that steadfast support for Ukraine in its fight for independence and rightful place in the European family will continue.

President of France Emmanuel Macron emphasized that his country stands shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine in resisting Russian aggression and will ensure the achievement of a just and durable peace.

Prime Minister of Croatia Andrej Plenković expressed support for Ukraine in defending its freedom and territorial integrity, assuring that the Croatian people stand with Ukraine.

President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel reiterated support for Ukraine in its just struggle for independence and territorial integrity, and recognized President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace.

President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović expressed deep respect for the courage of the Ukrainian people in their fight for freedom, democracy, peace, and European values. He emphasized that Montenegro seeks to make a meaningful contribution to creating conditions for a lasting and just peace in Ukraine.

President of Switzerland Karin Keller-Sutter expressed support for a just and lasting peace in Ukraine and stressed that her country will continue to provide assistance to Ukrainians.

King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden wished happiness and prosperity to Ukraine on its Independence Day.

Prime Minister of Sweden Ulf Kristersson highlighted the heroism of Ukrainians who defend their homeland every day against Russian aggression and emphasized that Sweden will continue to provide military, political, and financial assistance to Ukraine.

President of Sri Lanka Anura Kumara Dissanayake emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral relations based on friendship and mutual respect across various spheres. He wished Ukraine a swift return to peace.

His Majesty Emperor Naruhito of Japan extended his heartfelt congratulations to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and to the Ukrainian people.

President of the European Council António Costa, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, and President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola underlined that the European Union stands with Ukraine in these difficult times. Ukraine was also congratulated by Secretary General of the Council of Europe Alain Berset.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, who visited Kyiv last Friday, recorded his video greeting near the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, assuring the Alliance’s support on the path to peace.

The list of heads of state and government who offered their greetings to Ukraine on Independence Day will be updated, as our country is still receiving congratulatory letters and messages.
