According to the Head of State, such an appeal as military greetings will be heard for the first time this year on August 24 - on Independence Day of Ukraine during the parade in honor of the anniversary.
"We have consulted with the Minister of Defense, National Security and Defense Council, Government and I have decided that starting from August 24 these words will be heard for the first time as part of the official military parade ceremony on the Independence Day of Ukraine," Petro Poroshenko said during the visit to "Artem" state-owned joint-stock company of "Ukroboronprom".
The President also added that the issue of introducing the words "Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the Heroes!" as an official military greetings was thoroughly discussed with servicemen, ATO veterans and only then the decision was made.
The Head of State also noted that the new military greetings will be enshrined officially in the documents after the beginning of the regular session of the Verkhovna Rada and the corresponding decision of the Parliament, as it requires changes, in particular, to the statutes of all the troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. But after the completion of proper procedures, "these words and this greetings will become the official military greetings of the Armed Forces of Ukraine".
