President of Ukraine

Speeches

I am grateful to the European leaders. I want to thank the United States of America – the pressure on the aggressor is not weakening, and that is crucial. We are preparing more unpleasant surprises for the enemy.

Today, my bill is already in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine – fulfilling my promise – for justice, for law enforcement and anti-corruption agencies. Full-fledged guarantees of the independence of anti-corruption agencies.

I will propose a bill to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine that will be the response. It will ensure the strength of the rule of law system. And there will be no Russian influence or interference in the activities of law enforcement.

NABU and SAPO will work. And it is important that the Prosecutor General is determined to ensure that in Ukraine the inevitability of punishment for those who go against the law is actually ensured. This is what Ukraine really needs.

Today, I held a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council – the first in its renewed format following changes in the Government – and focused precisely on what we had discussed with Government officials.

The main task of Ukrainian diplomacy is to support everything that protects Ukrainian lives in Ukraine above all and everything that inflicts pain on Russia for this war. And each of you must deliver concrete results for the sake of our people, for the sake of Ukrainians.

NSDC Secretary Umerov also reported that he has proposed another meeting with the Russian side for next week. The pace of negotiations must be increased.

I count on the Government’s action plan to be presented as soon as possible and implemented on a daily basis. Each day must bring results for Ukraine.

We must reach the level of 50% Ukrainian-made weapons within the first six months of the new Government's work by expanding our domestic production. I am confident this can be achieved, though not easily.

I thank you. Millions of Ukrainians. Millions of characters, who together form our state. Our nation, our history, and our path from the Baptism of Rus–Ukraine to this very day. To the Day of our Statehood – and to the wisdom of every generation that helps us hold on, believe in ourselves, believe in Ukraine, and believe that we will succeed.
