President of Ukraine

Speeches

We also value the fact that we can always coordinate with France and stand together on many issues – that is so important, especially during wartime. Today, Emmanuel, his team, and I – we are also grateful to our colleagues – focused primarily on security. Our security – that of Ukraine, of Europe, and global security, particularly in light of developments in the Middle East and the Gulf region.

Today, our meeting and talks focused primarily on how we can ensure greater cooperation and strengthen the energy and economic capacities of both our nations, so that together we can do more for the national security of our states.

Those now seeking Ukraine’s help must continue to assist our own defense – first and foremost, our air defense.

Today Rob and I discussed energy and preparations for the next season. Support for sanctions against Russia, as well as political support for Ukraine. We especially appreciate your work on justice – on holding all Russian war criminals and Russia itself accountable.

So far, there has been no progress on the EU’s 20th sanctions package targeting Russia over this war. There has also been no movement on the 90-billion-euro assistance package for Ukraine. Even though Europe recognizes that this is vital for us, the blocking of the package still continues.

Our warriors are holding their ground with dignity. And this is how our country, our diplomacy, and our people will hold strong as well.

Of course, our priority is to do everything to end the war. We will continue the diplomatic process when our American partners are ready to work as we agreed – bilateral formats with them, trilateral formats with Russia, as well as work with the Europeans.

I am grateful to the intelligence services, the Office, and all involved agencies for the steps taken to make further prisoner exchanges possible. We are working to bring all our people home from Russian captivity.

Alternative generation and heat supply solutions, additional energy sources, real protection – taking into account the scale of all threats – all of this must be ensured.

We preserved our energy system. This winter, Ukraine repelled a large number of massive attacks, each involving dozens of missiles and hundreds of “shaheds.”
