President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with Prime Minister of Moldova Vasile Tofan.
“We support Moldova, your sovereignty, and territorial integrity. We are always happy to help and provide support. We have very good relations and communication at the presidential level,” the Head of State emphasized.
Vasile Tofan assured that Moldova continues to support Ukraine.
“Thank you for your resilience and courage. We greatly appreciate it. I want you to know that the overwhelming majority of the people of Moldova are immensely grateful to Ukraine and its warriors for their bravery,” the Prime Minister said.
During the meeting, they discussed European integration, particularly the need for Ukraine and Moldova to continue moving together toward membership in the European Union. Any attempts to separate the European integration processes of Ukraine and Moldova are unacceptable.
“Moldova and Ukraine are certainly stronger when we move forward on this track together. And it is important that we carry on together, because it is fair,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted.
The parties also discussed the situation in Transnistria and the related security challenges in the region, as well as military cooperation. Today, the Prime Ministers of Ukraine and Moldova signed an agreement on military-technical cooperation.
Special attention was paid to joint infrastructure projects and other agreements. The President emphasized that Ukraine proposes restoring the Solidarity Lanes, which will help accelerate exports of our goods to other European countries. The Head of State also thanked Moldova for supporting the Vertical Gas Corridor, particularly for its decision to offer a discount on gas transit via the Trans-Balkan route.
In addition, they discussed discounts on the transportation of Ukrainian cargo and support for Moldova’s water supply.
