President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy supports the inclusion of representatives of IDPs from the occupied territories of Donbas in the negotiations of the Trilateral Contact Group.
On “Freedom of Speech of Savik Shuster” program, the Head of State reminded that representatives of Ukraine, Russia, OSCE and temporarily occupied territories of Donbas were present in TCG. “Directly, the President does not and will not talk to them. This is clear,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
At the same time, the President stresses that many residents of Donbas who cross the checkpoints strive for the end of the war and believe they are Ukrainians.
"We must talk to these people. I think that the Trilateral Contact Group should have representatives of Donbas who moved to Kyiv or to other cities. They say: talk to the residents of the occupied territories, you do not know what they need. Let's talk to everyone: let the residents who moved come to Minsk, sit and tell why they moved and what happened,” the Head of State said.
As for the amnesty, according to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, it will be possible to speak about that only after the withdrawal of troops from Donbas and ensuring security.
"When we see after the “Normandy” that we really have the opportunity, if troops, illegal formations are withdrawn, if we really have security on the territory, if we have the opportunity to hold elections, we will talk about amnesty. Amnesty for people who have no blood on their hands,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized.
