Ukraine needs to make innovative changes, otherwise our country has no chance. It was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy on iForum 2019 in Kyiv. The Head of State made a presentation “Guarantor of innovation: creating the future together".
“Great Britain has recently lived a week without coal. British people show that the whole world abandons the use of coal. They have Rotterdam-, we have Rotterdam+. Two different worldviews. We cannot change everything. But we need to make innovative changes, otherwise our country has no chance,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
The Head of State noted that lagging behind in a certain sphere should prompt us to the implementation of breakthrough ideas, skipping the “pits of yesterday”. Africa did so by skipping the wired telephone stage and immediately introducing the mobile connection.
“We have got plenty of problems. But the lack of power grids can push the government toward renewable energy. The lack of banking infrastructure can lead to digital banking. The lack of transport logistics means we have to move towards drones,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted.
According to the President, Ukraine needs to focus on specific areas.
“We want low tariffs and energy efficiency? We need to strive for renewable energy innovations. We want affordable eco-friendly transport? We need to build not only roads, but also infrastructure for electric cars and UAVs. We want a future for our children? We have to radically change the education,” the Head of State added.
