Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Alexander Stubb Coordinated Positions and Discussed Work on Security Guarantees

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone call with President of Finland Alexander Stubb.

The leaders coordinated their positions to achieve more substantial results in the negotiation process on the path toward a durable peace.

At present, teams are actively working on the architecture of strong and multilateral security guarantees for Ukraine. European, American, and other partners within the Coalition of the Willing are engaged in this process. Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that military commanders, defense ministers, and security advisors at various levels are preparing the components of future security.

The Head of State emphasized that work on defining the details is being accelerated. According to him, it is time to organize a format for leaders’ discussions to determine the key priorities and timelines.

The conversation also touched upon relations with the United States and ensuring maximum substance in these relations.

The President of Ukraine underscored that the Russians are currently sending negative signals regarding meetings and further developments, while continuing strikes on Ukraine that are causing more casualties.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that the Russians will only react to strong pressure in response. Ukraine is counting on the intensification of such pressure. The Head of State added that steps toward real diplomacy are needed specifically from Russia.

The President of Ukraine thanked Alexander Stubb for his support and advice and noted that he would be glad to welcome the President of Finland in Kyiv.
