On the sidelines of the European Council meeting, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk.
The Head of State informed the Prime Minister about the intensified Russian aerial attacks on Ukraine’s energy facilities and emphasized the need to strengthen air defense. For this reason, military support for Ukraine and joint defense projects were among the main topics of discussion.
The President stressed that Ukraine’s skies require additional protection, as the security of the entire European airspace depends on it as well. Volodymyr Zelenskyy also underscored that Ukraine is interested in Polish companies investing in the Ukrainian defense industry.
In addition, the parties discussed the use of the EU SAFE credit mechanism to implement joint production in the defense-industrial sector, which would bring mutual benefits to all participants.
