Since the beginning of autumn, 25 Ukrainian Bookshelves have opened around the world, which is a record number for the relevant period. This was announced by the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska.

In particular, five new shelves appeared in Hungary: one at the Berzsenyi Dániel Central Library (Szombathely), two at the Central Library of Békéscsaba, and also at the József Attila Library (Kunszentmárton) and the Németh László Library (Hódmezővásárhely). Four shelves were opened in Poland – at the Hieronim Łopaciński Municipal Public Library (Lublin), the Hieronim Łopaciński Provincial Public Library (Lublin), the Henryk Sienkiewicz Municipal Public Library (Płońsk), and at the Public Library No. 7 in the Śródmieście District of Warsaw. Two shelves are now available in Ecuador – at the Universities of Cuenca and Espíritu Santo; one in Turkmenistan, at the Library of the State Cultural Center; one in the Czech Republic, at the Jiří Mahen Library (Brno); three in Portugal – at the Municipal Libraries of Bragança, Lamego, and Valongo; one in Canada, at the Windsor Public Library; one in Georgia, at the Plast community center; three in Spain – at the Ukrainian Cultural Center in Valencia, the Municipal Library of Lloret de Mar, and the Public Library of Lleida; two in Slovakia – at the Pavol Országh Hviezdoslav Regional Library and the Juraj Fándly Regional Library (Trnava); one in Romania, at the Octavian Goga County Library; and the first one in Pakistan – at the National Library of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
“I thank our diplomats and activists who are working to make this result possible. There are now more than 360 shelves in 63 countries around the world. They are opening and operating to bring our homeland closer to Ukrainian communities and people forced to flee their homes, to unite cultures and nations, to expand the language of understanding across the globe – and to make sure Ukraine’s voice is heard by everyone who seeks the truth,” said Olena Zelenska.
