We Now Have a Real Opportunity to Begin Construction of the Museum of the Revolution of Dignity and the Memorial to the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred – Kyrylo Budanov during Public Hearings on the Construction of the National Memorial

Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov took part in public hearings on the construction of the National Memorial Complex of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred – the Museum of the Revolution of Dignity, attended by Members of Parliament, representatives of the Government, the Office of the President, the Office of the Prosecutor General, clergy, and families of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred.

On behalf of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and in his own capacity, Kyrylo Budanov thanked the participants of the Revolution of Dignity and the families of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred for their contribution to the fight for Ukraine.

“Their heroic deed had a decisive impact on the formation of the modern Ukrainian nation and became an inseparable part of our national identity. It is this national identity that we are defending today on the battlefield. We are fighting for the right to be Ukrainians, for the right to determine our own future, for the right to live in our own state, where no one will ever again be able to issue us any ultimatums,” he said.

The participants discussed and approved the presentation of the project for the conversion into a museum of the Ecumenical Church of Archangel Michael and the Ukrainian New Martyrs on the Alley of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred.

This chapel of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church is an official place of remembrance where memorial services for the fallen are regularly held. It was built in March 2014, but did not have proper documentation. Work is currently underway to legalize the structure and approve the project for its restoration and relocation, as well as to organize the surrounding area, where there is a cross, the Bell of Dignity, and portraits of the fallen.

They also reviewed and approved the presentation of the roadmap for implementing the Museum of the Revolution of Dignity construction project. Those present discussed the architectural project “Storming the Hill.” According to MP Hanna Bondar, all legal obstacles that previously prevented construction have already been removed. By the end of the year, a contractor will be selected, funding will be opened, and all project issues will be approved so that construction of the museum can begin in 2027.

Special attention was given to the presentation of the concept for the memorial space on the Alley of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred and the project for its construction next to the museum.

The families of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred thanked those present for their attention and respect for the dignified commemoration of their loved ones.

“The Memorial to the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred must become a place of memory, dignity, and strength – a place where every new generation of Ukrainians can understand the price of our freedom, the true price of our statehood,” Kyrylo Budanov concluded.
