President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko took part in the ceremony of taking oath by the officials of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau’s Special Operations Department. The Head of State congratulated the newly appointed officials, wished them successful struggle against corruption and highlighted great expectations of the country regarding their activity.
The President expects the National Anti-Corruption Bureau to efficiently eliminate corruption in Ukraine. He also guarantees political support to the Bureau.
“You are doing a very important job for Ukraine! You should demonstrate efficiency. The state in its turn will do everything possible to maintain the work of the Bureau financially and provide decent payment for your activity. You should remember that in conditions of war an economic crisis, taxpayers do their best to help you fulfill your functions efficiently,” Petro Poroshenko noted.
The President emphasized that 347 officials had been chosen in an open contest. The state provided all the necessary conditions: high salaries, good protection and equipment. “APC symbolizes that nobody will stop the NABU detectives and special ops troops. The NABU will receive everything necessary for their activity,” the Head of State stressed.
The President expressed belief that the success of the Bureau would become a starting point for Ukraine’s success on the track towards the EU, inter alia, for the establishment of the visa-free regime with the EU in the coming months.
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau’s Special Operations Department shall be responsible for the seizure of the armed criminals and the protection of the NABU detectives and the participants in criminal proceedings. The department, inter alia, includes the best officials of the Security Service of Ukraine with vast experience, moral courage and patriotism.
The event was attended by NABU Director Artem Sytnyk and Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Andriy Taranov.
