And today, by the way, President Trump voiced his support for this and the United States’ readiness to take part. Among the agreed principles is also that Russia cannot have veto power over Ukraine’s European and NATO prospects. Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Friedrich Merz agreed that as long as Russia takes no steps toward peace, pressure on it must be maintained and the strengthening of Ukraine must continue.

The President of Ukraine and the Amir of Qatar discussed the diplomatic situation and opportunities for a genuine end to the war. Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani agreed that a ceasefire must be the first step toward peace. Only then can the right foundation for diplomacy be established.

Dick Schoof stressed that his position is very clear: there can be no decisions about Ukraine without Ukraine.
