What is needed now is joint efforts and unity among European countries and other nations that understand the importance of an effective security architecture in today's rapidly and sometimes unpredictably changing world. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this in his address to participants of the 25th Berlin Security Conference.

You know how to build security. We have seen it ourselves – through our own experience and through Europe’s experience over the past decades. Far too much depends on what Germany believes in, and whom Germany believes in.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Frank-Walter Steinmeier discussed joint efforts with the United States to bring peace closer. The President of Ukraine emphasized the importance of Europe being part of this process and noted that talks involving the United States, NATO, Europe, and Ukraine at the team level will take place in Brussels the following day.

In Berlin, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with President of the Bundestag Julia Klöckner.

They also discussed further air defense assistance, including the provision of PAC-2, PAC-3, and IRIS-T missiles to Ukraine. The President thanked Germany for its support for Ukraine’s F-16 aircraft. The leaders discussed a new package of such assistance.

It is important that Germany stands with us at this time. We are grateful for that. It is ready to continue its support. Friedrich and I discussed the support packages and decisions that are needed. And I am very grateful that Friedrich said there will be a winter support package. And we discussed further air defense assistance.

In October, the foreign policy work of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy focused on strengthening Ukraine’s air defense and supporting the Ukrainian energy sector amid intensified Russian strikes, unblocking deliveries of missiles for Patriot systems, diplomatic efforts to achieve peace, advancing our country toward membership in the European Union, and securing the release of Ukrainians from Russian captivity.

The Head of State thanked them for their contribution to the construction of fortifications and protective structures, as well as the installation of anti-drone nets.

Over these past weeks, repair crews and energy workers have been working virtually around the clock across all of Ukraine, restoring power after Russian strikes. This year, the Russians have adopted a new tactic – they are striking not only power generation facilities but also carrying out many strikes against power grids, against energy distribution infrastructure.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked him for his consistent public stance, support for our state, and continued prayers for peace in Ukraine. The President spoke to the Ecumenical Patriarch about Ukraine’s joint efforts with its partners to achieve peace, including contacts with the American side.
