Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Ihor Zhovkva held a meeting with a delegation of the European Parliament Committee on Security and Defense (SEDE), led by the Committee Chair Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann. The meeting was attended by representatives of European Union member states, including Belgium, Estonia, Ireland, Germany, and France.

On Ukraine’s part, we are doing everything to ensure the exchanges, and I thank our partners who are helping and providing the necessary mediation.

The leaders discussed Russian strikes on Ukraine’s energy sector. The Head of State provided detailed information on the overall situation, recovery efforts, and our country’s needs.

“Perhaps not everyone knows that you carry out a great number of combat missions, but people should know this. Thank you for strengthening Ukraine’s Defense and Security Forces, defending Ukraine’s territorial integrity, working, fighting, and destroying the enemy in various areas,” the Head of State noted.

In Kyiv, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk, during which the leaders had a productive and substantive discussion on a wide range of issues.

We discussed energy cooperation, and there are things that can strengthen both of our countries. In particular, this concerns the development of our energy grids in Ukraine and Poland.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk paid tribute in Kyiv to the Ukrainian defenders who lost their lives.

Captives must be brought home. Overall, Ukraine’s position is very clear: the war must be ended for real. Russia must be ready for this.

The Olena Zelenska Foundation and the Czech Kellner Family Foundation have agreed on a partnership aimed at supporting Ukrainian children and families affected by the full-scale Russian aggression.

Those who started the war must take steps toward de-escalation and stopping the war. If this is not happening, and until it happens, every Russian strike hits not just our energy infrastructure, not just our cities and communities in –20 °C, but every strike also targets the leaders negotiating with Russia and receiving only further war in response.
