In Kyiv, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, during which they paid key attention to strengthening Ukraine’s air defense capabilities.

Licenses are needed so that Europe can produce the protection it requires for itself, including missiles for air defense systems that are available in the United States. The Head of State and the NATO Secretary General placed memorial candles and paid tribute to fallen Ukrainian defenders at the People’s Memorial of National Remembrance at Maidan Nezalezhnosti in Kyiv.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Vice President of Switzerland Ignazio Cassis, and the OSCE Secretary General Feridun Sinirlioğlu.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed decrees enacting decisions of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine to synchronize sanctions with the United Kingdom and to renew sanctions that were nearing expiration.

In January, the key priorities of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy were strengthening Ukraine’s energy resilience, reinforcing air defense, securing defense support, continuing work with partners to achieve a dignified peace, and increasing sanctions pressure on Russia.

The Head of State thanked her for the substantial energy support provided to Ukraine by the European Union. Additional deliveries of generators and other energy equipment are expected in the near future. Ursula von der Leyen informed Volodymyr Zelenskyy about the finalization of the 20th sanctions package against Russia.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree implementing the decision of the National Security and Defense Council on synchronizing sanctions with the European Union and applying restrictions against 10 individuals and six legal entities.
