The Head of State lit a candle at the memorial stele on the grounds of the “Angels of Victory” memorial and spoke with the families and loved ones of the fallen warriors. The President also thanked the defenders present at the ceremony who fought in the battles for Moshchun, recognizing their service and all these years of fighting against Russian aggression.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and First Lady Olena Zelenska attended the farewell ceremony for His Holiness Filaret, Honorary Patriarch of Kyiv and All Rus-Ukraine.

“This is a great loss for Ukrainians. He was a strong personality and one of the most steadfast defenders of the Ukrainian Church, independence, and statehood. The Ukrainian people will always honor his contribution to building an autocephalous Church. And without the energy, character, and courage of Patriarch Filaret, many of Ukraine’s achievements simply would not have been possible. We also remember how Patriarch Filaret taught us to unite around the idea of a strong and independent Ukraine,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

There has been a pause in the talks, and it is time to resume them. We are doing everything to ensure that the negotiations are genuinely substantive.

We need to take and implement decisions. Strong and steady support matters. Pressure on Russia matters. And it is important to stay focused – even while watching Iran – that war is ongoing on European soil.

Weakening the Russian aggressor is the key to ending the war: increasing losses on the battlefield, economic damage, and continued strong support for Ukraine. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this during his address to participants of the European Council meeting.

The Head of State thanked His Majesty and all the Spanish people for their unwavering support of Ukraine throughout these years of Russian aggression.

In Madrid, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with Spanish parliamentarians, led by the Speaker of the Congress of Deputies, Francina Armengol, and the President of the Senate, Pedro Rollán.

The visit to Spain, already the fourth since the full-scale war began, will further strengthen cooperation between the two countries. This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy following his meeting with Prime Minister of Spain Pedro Sánchez.

Today, there are new defense agreements between Ukraine and Spain, as well as our private sector and our companies. There is movement in economic and infrastructure cooperation between us, as the Prime Minister mentioned regarding the railway. These are important decisions. Humanitarian and diplomatic cooperation between our countries also continues.
