President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Speaker of the House of Representatives (lower house of the Japanese Parliament) Tadamori Oshima and President of the House of Councillors (Upper House of Parliament) Akiko Santō. The President thanked the leadership of the Japanese Parliament for supporting Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty.

The parties discussed the current situation in Donbas. “Achieving peace in Donbas and ending the bloodshed is an absolute priority for me and my team,” the President said.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and First Lady Olena Zelenska took part in the enthronement ceremony of Emperor of Japan Naruhito during their working visit to Japan. Ukraine is one of almost 200 countries whose representatives arrived in Tokyo to attend the ceremony. "It is a great honor for me to participate in the enthronement of Emperor Naruhito. An ancient rite in modern Japan is an example of how deep respect for traditions and the introduction of the latest high technologies can coexist in one State to improve the lives of everyone," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said after the enthronement ceremony.

The Head of State thanked Japan for its consistent policy of supporting Ukraine and non-recognition attempts illegal annexation of Crimea as well as maintaining sanctions against Russia.
