President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy accepted the letters of credence of newly appointed ambassadors of foreign states: Ahmed Ouail of Algeria, Alan Deniega of the Philippines, Geoff Bowan of Australia, and Victor Chirilă of Moldova.

The Head of State congratulated the ambassadors on the start of their diplomatic missions in our country and thanked them for their support of Ukraine and its independence.

“We discussed Russia’s war against Ukraine, the protection of our people, as well as the situation in the Middle East and the Gulf region. Our partners recognize the importance of our security mission and cooperation with countries currently facing attacks from the Iranian regime. Our goal is absolutely clear – we must strengthen security everywhere and do everything possible to end the war and guarantee reliable protection,” the President said.

Separately, with the Ambassador of Algeria, they discussed deepening the partnership. Ukraine is interested in expanding cooperation in the energy sector. Attention was also given to the important role of our country in ensuring food security for Algeria.

“We are pleased to welcome you to Ukraine. We have significant trade turnover between our countries in 2025, even during the war. And we want this level to grow,” the President said during the conversation with Ahmed Ouail.

The Head of State thanked the Ambassador of the Philippines for his country’s principled position in support of Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.

“My best wishes to your President. I remember my meeting with him in 2024 and our visit to your wonderful country. We had a very good conversation. And we are ready to welcome him in Ukraine,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

Alan Deniega noted the symbolism of the fact that the presentation of credentials took place on the 34th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

During the meeting with the Ambassador of Australia, the Head of State thanked the Australian government and people for their support of Ukraine from the very beginning of the full-scale war.

“I hope that we can continue to rely on this, in particular on your military assistance. We are grateful for the decision on the PURL initiative, which is very important for the protection of our skies, especially during such a difficult winter as we had,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy added.

With the Ambassador of Moldova, the President discussed key priorities of bilateral cooperation, the European integration of Ukraine and Moldova, and mutual support on this path.

Victor Chirilă noted that in his position he would do everything to further strengthen good-neighborly relations between the two countries. The Ambassador of Moldova emphasized that Ukraine is a strategic partner for his country.

“Thank you for so highly appreciating Ukraine’s role in the security and independence of Moldova. And, of course, the movement of our countries towards the European Union is very important. Today, the most important thing is to stay united in the face of various challenges,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.
