President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. During the meeting, participants analyzed in detail the status of implementation of decisions raised by Ukrainian warriors on the frontline: direct funding for combat brigades to purchase what they need, a fairer distribution of personnel to reinforce combat brigades, and expanding brigades’ capacity to conduct basic general military training.
“In the second half of last year, decisions were introduced that ultimately led to a significant strengthening of our frontline positions,” the Head of State noted.
In particular, direct funding has boosted the real combat capabilities of the brigades. Around 160 military units are already receiving stable, guaranteed reinforcements. The number of military units granted the right to conduct basic general military training has doubled.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed that possible additional steps be worked through for each of these points to support the brigades.
The meeting also addressed the supply of long-range 155 mm artillery shells, which is a frequent request from the military. The President instructed officials to develop more opportunities for financing, producing, and supplying such shells, as well as for supporting artillery capabilities overall, which are essential for achieving combat results. In addition, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is working on supplying pickup trucks to the troops, and the relevant decisions are already being implemented.
Separately, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi reported to the Head of State on the situation in key frontline sectors.
“Ukrainian positions are strong, and this is a result our state very much needs – one that will certainly support all diplomatic steps. We also devoted considerable attention to air defense today, which is perfectly understandable, as it is a key priority for protecting our cities and communities. I expect much more activity from our diplomats to strengthen air defense and ensure the supply of the necessary missiles,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized.
The President instructed the Ministry of Defense to intensify all available formats with partners for the supply of anti-ballistic capabilities.
