Council of the Fund of the President of Ukraine for the Support of Education, Science, and Sports Summed Up the Year and Discussed Priorities for the Year Ahead

In 2025, the Fund of the President of Ukraine for the Support of Education, Science, and Sports continued its work to develop human capital, support intellectually gifted, talented, and creative young people, as well as young Ukrainians with significant achievements in sports.

This year, the presidential scholarship program was expanded, with payments made to more than 400 students. In particular, the scholarships were awarded to nearly 300 applicants to Ukrainian educational institutions who scored over 185 points in all subjects on the National Multidisciplinary Test, four medalists of international Olympiads, and 115 winners of nationwide subject Olympiads.

During the Council meeting, a comprehensive program for the development and support of talented youth in Ukraine was presented.

“We plan to identify faculties that will become education and research hubs. The Fund will implement programs to invite foreign professors, introduce dual-degree programs with universities in the United Kingdom, and establish innovation laboratories in partnership with business, making these faculties attractive places of study for talented young people,” said Advisor – Commissioner of the President on the Fund Olha Budnyk.

The meeting also addressed ways to increase motivation among talented children to choose Ukrainian higher education institutions for their studies.

“Today, I would focus on programs and initiatives that ensure the broadest possible outreach to young people: creating joint educational programs with the world’s leading universities, developing university sports and campuses, and building further career opportunities through close cooperation with Ukrainian business,” emphasized Deputy Head of the Office of the President Olena Kovalska.

The development of the sports component was discussed separately during the meeting. Plans include conducting a study on the condition and use of sports infrastructure at higher education institutions, as well as introducing scholarships for young people with significant achievements in sports.
