Scammers are sending fraudulent emails falsely attributed to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov. We urge everyone to carefully verify the sender’s email address and not to trust any that look suspicious.
Recently, such a message was received by Jurij Klufas, President of the Ukrainian National Federation of Canada. The email contained a request, allegedly from the Head of the Office of the President, to “provide active media and information support” for the return of Ukrainian citizens to their homeland.
The message did not originate from an official address, but from an account created on a commercial email service: office.apu.gov.ua@proton.me. The signature in the email does not belong to Kyrylo Budanov.
All information regarding this cyber fraud has already been transferred to the relevant law enforcement authorities.
