Ukraine seeks peace above all else – but not at the cost of capitulation. This was stated by Head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak during an event marking the 30th anniversary of the Hennadii Udovenko Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The event was also attended by Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk and Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha.
Andriy Yermak noted that over the years of its existence, the Diplomatic Academy has trained many professionals who now represent Ukraine in the world and advance our country’s interests.
“Your victories are measured by hearts and minds united for the sake of Ukraine. It is critically important for us to preserve the unprecedented unity around Ukraine. We must constantly adapt – remain firm in our principles while flexible in our approaches,” he said.
The Head of the Office of the President emphasized that Ukraine’s foremost desire is peace, but not at any cost.
“Compromise does not mean capitulation. Moscow is proposing a new round of negotiations. And we are ready for dialogue. However, we demand clarity – clear and, most importantly, reasonable proposals. We will not fall for a pig in a poke called a memorandum. We have already had one. That is enough. Diplomacy must be built on specifics, not empty promises,” Andriy Yermak noted.
