Ukraine and Bulgaria Agreed to Implement Concrete Steps to Develop Energy Cooperation

In Ankara, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Prime Minister of Bulgaria Rumen Radev.

The leaders discussed the development of bilateral cooperation and the strengthening of relations between Ukraine and Bulgaria.

Particular attention was paid to energy issues. The Head of State emphasized that Europe’s dependence on Russian energy resources is decreasing, and it is important that partners have alternatives. Energy cooperation between Ukraine and Bulgaria has great potential, and it must be realized. The countries have a shared interest in developing supplies of liquefied natural gas. The President and the Prime Minister agreed on clear next steps.

Rumen Radev also spoke about his diplomatic contacts and Bulgaria’s steps to ensure security in the Black Sea. The leaders agreed that their teams will stay in touch.

The Head of State invited the Prime Minister of Bulgaria to visit Ukraine.
