Dear Keir, Mr. Prime Minister,
Dear attendees, members of our teams, journalists,
Today, we extend our special gratitude to Keir Starmer, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, with whom we have worked very closely and diligently during this period of full-scale war. Britain has always stood with Ukraine and continues to do so, and we greatly appreciate this. I want to thank you personally, Keir, as well as your team and all the British people. We always know that we can rely on Britain’s decisions, Britain’s leadership, and our cooperation with Britain. During these years of full-scale war, Ukraine’s relations with Britain have been the strongest in our history.
Today, as my team and I were preparing for this meeting, we recalled that Prime Minister Starmer and I have had dozens of meetings, made dozens of important decisions, and held dozens of conversations. Today marks Keir Starmer’s fourth visit to Ukraine as Prime Minister. We are deeply grateful for this attention, for the respect shown to our country, and for the support. Altogether, we have held 46 official conversations alone. That comes to at least two important conversations or meetings every month. Those are the statistics, Keir.
I want to thank you for all the assistance provided to Ukraine throughout this period. It includes thousands of defense systems – anti-aircraft missiles, air defense systems, and other weapons. Britain’s support for Ukraine during this time has exceeded £11 billion, including nearly £8 billion in military assistance. It's very tangible. And it's very helpful.
We concluded the One Hundred Year Partnership Agreement between our countries – Ukraine and the United Kingdom – and it reflects Britain’s faith in our people, in our country, and in our independence. I am grateful to Britain for its strong sanctions policy – this has always been one of the Prime Minister’s priorities – and its impact is being felt in Russia. They know there that Britain is firmly opposed to this war and is using every available means to help finally move toward diplomacy.
Ukraine has confidence in Britain, and it is important that we have received all the necessary signals that the course of supporting our defense and maintaining our genuinely strong relations with Britain will continue. Our relationship and our cooperation embody the British spirit and the strength of the British people – qualities respected around the world and because of which Britain’s voice is always heard. And our gratitude to you, Keir, is truly gratitude to every British citizen.
Today, the Prime Minister and I discussed key issues concerning the front. These are always urgent and critically important tasks and priorities. We also discussed our actions and our long-range operations. We are grateful to Britain for its support in this regard. Ukraine has achieved significant success there, and this is one of the forms of pressure on Russia aimed at ending the war and achieving a dignified peace. We will certainly continue coordinating with our British friends. We wish Britain every success, and I want to thank you personally, Keir, and wish you the best of luck.
Glory to Ukraine!
