First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska began her visit to Canada at Alberta Children’s Hospital in Calgary – one of the largest paediatric medical centres in Western Canada. The hospital is home to Dr. Gordon Townsend School, an educational space that gives children undergoing long-term treatment access to learning.

In Canada, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister of Canada Mark Carney took part in a presentation featuring Ukrainian drones, joint Ukrainian-Canadian developments, and component manufacturers.

In Calgary, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister of Canada Mark Carney signed the Ukraine-Canada Declaration for a 100 Year Partnership and the Joint Declaration on Enhancement of the Defence and Security Cooperation between Ukraine and Canada. In the presence of the leaders, the Joint Statement on Ukraine-Canada Energy Cooperation was also signed.

I am grateful for the defense package that Prime Minister Carney has already announced. Above all, it will strengthen our air defense – both our Patriots and our combat aircraft, which down Russian jet-powered “shaheds.”

A two-day sanctions forum is underway in Kyiv to assess the impact of sanctions on Russia and discuss further steps to strengthen restrictions. Representatives of Ukraine, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Estonia, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Germany, Norway, Poland, Romania, the United States, Czechia, Finland, France, Sweden, Japan, and the European Union are taking part.

In Riga, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov met with President of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs, Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs, and Minister of Defense Raivis Melnis.
