Andriy Yermak expressed gratitude to Türkiye for providing the platform for the meeting with the Russian side in Istanbul on May 16; he also reaffirmed Ukraine’s readiness to continue negotiations with Russia to achieve a ceasefire and establish a just and lasting peace.

Ukraine seeks peace above all else – but not at the cost of capitulation. This was stated by Head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak during an event marking the 30th anniversary of the Hennadii Udovenko Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The challenges of returning, rehabilitating, and reintegrating Ukrainian children who have been illegally deported or forcibly transferred to Russia were discussed during an event titled “Careful, Fragile: Childhood, War, Occupation, Deportation”, held in Kyiv.

Advisor to the Head of the Presidential Office Yuriy Katsion held a meeting with representatives of the government, banking sector, and non-governmental organizations to discuss prospects for implementing sustainable development financing mechanisms in Ukraine. Yuriy Katsion noted that although the full-scale Russian invasion has slowed the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), it has not stopped the process.

The parties discussed diplomatic efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace, as well as preparations for negotiations with the Russian side.

The discussion focused on key issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation. Ihor Zhovkva informed the diplomats about the outcomes of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s visit to Germany, particularly the agreements reached regarding security, defense, and political support for Ukraine.

The main topic of discussion was preparations for the President of Ukraine’s participation in the G7 Summit, which will take place on June 15–17 in Canada.

Deputy Heads of the Office of the President, Ihor Brusylo and Pavlo Palisa, held a meeting with the U.S. delegation. The delegation was led by Tyler Brace, Senior Professional Staff Member at the U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations and Advisor to Senator Jim Risch.

The “Education of a New Ukraine” conference was held in Kyiv, focusing on building new educational infrastructure and quality. Among the participants were Verkhovna Rada Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, top officials from relevant ministries, and Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Olena Kovalska.
