Ahead of Education Workers’ Day, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with teachers, lecturers, students, and pupils; he also presented state awards to educators.

The leaders discussed the importance of achieving peace, respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, and the development of bilateral relations.

The parties discussed in detail the priorities of Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the first half of 2026. President Zelenskyy emphasized that during this period it is important to achieve substantial progress in the enlargement of the European Union.

The parties discussed further defense support, including new aid packages. Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on Portugal to join the PURL initiative.

The Head of State emphasized the importance of the PURL initiative, which enables the purchase of American weapons with the funds of NATO member states. Special attention was given to Russian threats, in particular the incidents involving Russian drones in the airspace of European countries.

The meeting also touched upon the continued support for Ukraine and the expansion of defense cooperation. The partnership between Ukraine and Sweden holds great potential, and it is important to realize it fully.

Special attention was given to work on security guarantees, which must provide protection on land, in the air, and at sea. The leaders agreed on further contacts within the Coalition of the Willing.

In Copenhagen, on the sidelines of the European Political Community Summit, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with President of Moldova Maia Sandu.

The leaders of Ukraine and Azerbaijan discussed diplomatic efforts to establish real peace in Ukraine and ways to achieve it as soon as possible. Special attention was given to energy cooperation.
