While in Rome, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held his first meeting with Prime Minister of Canada Mark Carney, during which they discussed the full and unconditional ceasefire, pressure on Russia, continued support for Ukraine, and Canada’s Presidency of the G7.

The Presidents of Ukraine and Montenegro discussed in detail the stance taken by Russia and the need to increase pressure to achieve peace. The leaders also discussed prospects for cooperation between Ukraine and Montenegro in various sectors and agreed to work on its development.

The Head of State expressed gratitude for the Netherlands' support for Ukraine, particularly for its defense assistance and the nearly threefold increase in aid this year. The leaders discussed Ukraine’s current needs, including strengthening air defense and securing direct investments in Ukrainian drone production.

The leaders also discussed the coordination of diplomatic efforts with the United States and European partners, as well as increasing pressure on Russia should it remain unconstructive in the negotiation process. Military support and continued direct investment in Ukraine’s defense industry were among other key topics of discussion.
