The Head of State expressed gratitude for the joint statement by the Nordic and Baltic countries in support of a full, unconditional ceasefire for at least 30 days and direct negotiations between Ukraine and Russia at the highest level.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy briefed his counterparts on the negotiations between the Ukrainian and Russian delegations in Istanbul and called for increased pressure on Russia should it refuse to agree to a full and unconditional ceasefire. Particular attention during the meeting was given to accelerating Ukraine’s EU accession.

In Tirana, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with President of Moldova Maia Sandu to coordinate steps toward achieving a sustainable peace and to discuss the strengthening of bilateral cooperation.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about the meeting between the Ukrainian and Russian delegations in Istanbul. The President of Ukraine noted that the Ukrainian delegation at the negotiations was represented at a high level and had a mandate to discuss a ceasefire.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated Pope Leo XIV on his election to the See of Saint Peter and thanked him for the support of Ukraine and the Ukrainian people. The President expressed gratitude for the words of His Holiness during the first Sunday Blessing in St. Peter's Square about the need to achieve a just, true, and lasting peace for Ukraine and the release of prisoners.
