President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has awarded the honorary title of Hero of Ukraine with the Order of the Golden Star to Senior Soldier Denys Lysenko, senior gunner of a mechanized squad in the motorized infantry platoon of the 17th Separate Motorized Infantry Battalion of the 57th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Kish Otaman Kost Hordiienko.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed a decree enacting the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine to impose sanctions against Russia’s military-industrial complex. The measures specifically target manufacturers of unmanned aerial vehicles employing artificial intelligence, as well as their suppliers.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine is ready to work as productively as possible for the sake of genuine peace. The U.S. President informed about his meeting with the Russian leader in Alaska and the main points of their discussion. The leaders agreed to discuss all details more thoroughly during their meeting in Washington on Monday, August 18.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy informed about his recent contacts with partners and stressed that Ukraine’s position is absolutely clear: a just peace and reliable security guarantees are needed. Javier Milei expressed his willingness to make personal efforts toward achieving peace.

In London, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Keir Starmer. The leaders coordinated their next steps and discussed further support for Ukraine.

The leaders clearly articulated a shared position: the path to peace cannot be determined without Ukraine. The participants also agreed that negotiations can only yield results if they are held under a ceasefire.

Ukraine, all of Europe, and the United States are pursuing a common course. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this following a joint phone call with U.S. President Donald Trump and European leaders.

“There must be a ceasefire – number one. There must be security guarantees – truly reliable ones. And today, by the way, President Trump voiced his support for this and the United States’ readiness to take part. Among the agreed principles is also that Russia cannot have veto power over Ukraine’s European and NATO prospects. And peace talks should be combined with proper pressure on Russia,” the President added.

The President and the Chancellor exchanged details of their recent contacts with partners and outlined the main parameters for further discussions. Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Friedrich Merz agreed that as long as Russia takes no steps toward peace, pressure on it must be maintained and the strengthening of Ukraine must continue.

The President of Ukraine and the Amir of Qatar discussed the diplomatic situation and opportunities for a genuine end to the war. Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani agreed that a ceasefire must be the first step toward peace. Only then can the right foundation for diplomacy be established.
