President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy took part in the Sixth Summit of the International Crimea Platform, held in New York during the 81st session of the UN General Assembly. This was the second consecutive Crimea Platform summit to take place on this global platform.

According to the President, it is important that Ukraine and Chile have an open dialogue. The leaders discussed areas where they can deepen it, particularly security and drone technologies.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Kristalina Georgieva discussed the importance of voting on laws that are part of Ukraine’s commitments to its partners. The Head of State noted that the Verkhovna Rada has already voted on some of these decisions, and all other laws needed for financial support will be passed by the end of the year.

“Both the U.S. and Ukraine want to see this senseless Russian war ended before winter. We discussed potential de-escalatory steps that can open up the way to diplomacy,” the Head of State said.

The Head of State expressed his gratitude for the EU’s decision on the €90 billion loan and noted that Ukraine is meeting its commitments under the loan to cover as much of the budget gap as possible. The presidents agreed that their teams would work on other ways to provide financial support as well.
