President of Ukraine

Speeches

–

I thank all Americans and all our partners who took this seriously and truly helped us. I thank members of Congress, senators, all the media, the State Department, and the President. Protecting lives matters.

We have an agreement to hold a trilateral meeting – Ukraine, the United States, and Russia – at the team level. And we hope it will happen. The plan is to meet in the first half of November. And as early as possible, of course. But we are ready to meet any day – even tomorrow. But it all depends on the Russians.

Finland is a very important partner for us, and we are grateful for your support. And we believe that together we can do what needs to be done – both for our security and our economies.

And today, we have important talks with our American partners and with our other partners from Europe. And today, Steve Witkoff is also here with us in Oslo, and Jared Kushner joined us online, as Jonas already said. And it’s important that we keep talking at all levels and work together on the decisions needed to end this war.

Our front is strong, and I thank every warrior and every one of our units that is carrying out its tasks in full.

Without a determined European Union capable of making strong decisions Putin would have gone much further by now. The European Union has not fallen apart. It has not backed down or given in to fear when it came to defending the European way of life. And that mattered just as much as the courage of Ukrainians.

Today, I’ll speak with Denmark, and I’ll speak with Lithuania – with the prime ministers. Tomorrow, we have important negotiations in the United Kingdom. This week, we’ll also be holding talks with the European Union. There will be support packages for Ukraine, and we are also making progress in the negotiations on our accession to the European Union.

Everyone in America knows our position, and many support that very position – that everything must be fair. Ukraine is ready for an energy ceasefire, and we are the ones who have repeatedly proposed such a ceasefire. Russia must take its own steps toward “silence.”

Last night, Russian oil refineries were not burning. But at midnight, a Russian jet-powered “shahed” struck a gas-production facility in Ukraine. And there was also a Russian strike on an ordinary gas station, involving several drones. And repair crews are still working to fix the damage from yesterday’s attacks. So there were Russian violations of the energy ceasefire announced by President Trump.

Today, there was a statement from the President of the United States that an energy ceasefire has been secured. This is good news for everyone – and it is important that it become reality.
