The Presidents of Ukraine and Montenegro discussed in detail the stance taken by Russia and the need to increase pressure to achieve peace. The leaders also discussed prospects for cooperation between Ukraine and Montenegro in various sectors and agreed to work on its development.

The second session of the Intergovernmental Negotiation Committee on an International Treaty to establish a Claims Commission for Ukraine was held in The Hague. Participants of the meeting reviewed the draft treaty in detail and discussed the key components of the future commission: its composition, governance principles, and funding.

The Head of State expressed gratitude for the Netherlands' support for Ukraine, particularly for its defense assistance and the nearly threefold increase in aid this year. The leaders discussed Ukraine’s current needs, including strengthening air defense and securing direct investments in Ukrainian drone production.

The leaders also discussed the coordination of diplomatic efforts with the United States and European partners, as well as increasing pressure on Russia should it remain unconstructive in the negotiation process. Military support and continued direct investment in Ukraine’s defense industry were among other key topics of discussion.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with Prime Minister of Bulgaria Rosen Zhelyazkov. The key topics included a full and unconditional ceasefire, security guarantees, cooperation in the energy sector, and the development of bilateral relations.

The Head of State expressed gratitude for the joint statement by the Nordic and Baltic countries in support of a full, unconditional ceasefire for at least 30 days and direct negotiations between Ukraine and Russia at the highest level.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy briefed his counterparts on the negotiations between the Ukrainian and Russian delegations in Istanbul and called for increased pressure on Russia should it refuse to agree to a full and unconditional ceasefire. Particular attention during the meeting was given to accelerating Ukraine’s EU accession.

In Tirana, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with President of Moldova Maia Sandu to coordinate steps toward achieving a sustainable peace and to discuss the strengthening of bilateral cooperation.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about the meeting between the Ukrainian and Russian delegations in Istanbul. The President of Ukraine noted that the Ukrainian delegation at the negotiations was represented at a high level and had a mandate to discuss a ceasefire.

This week, there was a real chance to take important steps toward ending the war – if only Vladimir Putin hadn’t been afraid to come to Türkiye. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy made this statement during his address at the plenary session of the sixth European Political Community Summit in Tirana, Albania.
