Ukraine, all of Europe, and the United States are pursuing a common course. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this following a joint phone call with U.S. President Donald Trump and European leaders.

“There must be a ceasefire – number one. There must be security guarantees – truly reliable ones. And today, by the way, President Trump voiced his support for this and the United States’ readiness to take part. Among the agreed principles is also that Russia cannot have veto power over Ukraine’s European and NATO prospects. And peace talks should be combined with proper pressure on Russia,” the President added.

There must be security guarantees – truly reliable ones. And today, by the way, President Trump voiced his support for this and the United States’ readiness to take part.

The President and the Chancellor exchanged details of their recent contacts with partners and outlined the main parameters for further discussions. Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Friedrich Merz agreed that as long as Russia takes no steps toward peace, pressure on it must be maintained and the strengthening of Ukraine must continue.

The President of Ukraine and the Amir of Qatar discussed the diplomatic situation and opportunities for a genuine end to the war. Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani agreed that a ceasefire must be the first step toward peace. Only then can the right foundation for diplomacy be established.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy informed the Prime Minister about Ukraine’s diplomatic efforts and contacts with all partners. Dick Schoof stressed that his position is very clear: there can be no decisions about Ukraine without Ukraine. The leaders agreed that a genuine, real, and fair outcome can be achieved only with Ukraine and with Europe’s involvement.

The President said that in the morning he had spoken with Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko, Minister of Finance Sergii Marchenko, Minister of Education and Science Oksen Lisovyi, the Office team, and the military. The state will take tangible steps to support young people.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a phone call with President of Romania Nicușor Dan. The heads of state coordinated their next joint diplomatic steps and discussed preparations for tomorrow’s contacts with other leaders.

The leaders discussed the current diplomatic situation and the opportunities it presents. The President of Türkiye stated that any negotiations without Ukraine will not bring lasting peace. Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan share the same understanding of all potential risks and threats, and agreed that a simulated rather than genuine peace will not last long and will only encourage Russia to further seize territory.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Lithuania, all Nordic countries and countries of the Baltic region for the declaration they adopted the day before. It reaffirms support for Ukraine’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, as well as readiness to make diplomatic efforts, continue providing assistance to our country, and strengthen sanctions against Russia.
