Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine’s position is absolutely clear: the path to peace must begin with a ceasefire. Ukraine is ready for this, as well as for meetings at the highest level in various formats.

The Head of State informed about all recent contacts and efforts aimed at securing an end to the killings and establishing a real peace. The President noted that there have been many contacts at various levels. All are united in the understanding that the war must be brought to an end and that a common European position must be developed on every important security aspect.

The two Presidents share the view that peace can be achieved through U.S. support and European unity. They agreed to coordinate their efforts.

The key topics discussed included diplomatic steps to bring about a just and lasting peace, joint defense production, support for Ukrainians, and the negotiation process regarding Ukraine’s accession to the European Union.

The leaders discussed the importance of participation of European representatives, together with the United States, in the process of achieving a real and just peace.

The President thanked the IMF for its financial support and noted that Ukraine looks forward to continued cooperation. Kristalina Georgieva emphasized that, despite the war, Ukraine is fulfilling its obligations to the IMF and implementing necessary reforms.
