In Kyiv, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy took part in the 4th International Summit of Cities and Regions “Partnership. Resilience. Readiness,” which brought together representatives of 24 countries.

“We are especially grateful to our closest friends, and France is one of them. We have excellent relations with your President and your people. From the very beginning of this war, the French people have shown that they are on the right side of history,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

On the Day of the State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with servicemembers of the State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection and presented them with state awards.

“Now, when we are on Ukrainian soil, under our Ukrainian flag, to the sound of our Ukrainian national song, paying tribute to our Ukrainian heroes, we feel in our hearts everything through which Ukrainians have been forced to pass, everything our people have had to endure,” the Head of State said.

As a result of the Russian strike on a residential building on Dehtiarivska Street, part of one section of the building was destroyed from the first to the fifth floors. Debris removal is currently underway. As of now, two people are known to have been killed. Two more people are considered missing. In total, more than 70 people have been injured in the capital. Humanitarian headquarters are operating in the city’s districts to provide support to everyone who needs it.

The Head of State stressed that the Marines are among the strongest and truly proud branches of the Defense Forces, who have demonstrated their extraordinary courage in the fight for Ukraine’s independence.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed decrees enacting decisions of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine on the imposition of sanctions targeting occupiers responsible for missile strikes on Ukrainian territory, as well as maritime vessels forming part of Russia’s shadow military logistics fleet.

The Head of State discussed with participants the current security situation and the importance of being prepared for any possible threats.

“We are very grateful to you for your service and for defending our country. I wish you a speedy recovery and rehabilitation,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

“All partners note that Ukraine’s position is significantly stronger – both on the battlefield and in our long-range operations. This is significant, and it is precisely this kind of our pressure that can compel a shift toward right and effective diplomacy,” the Head of State emphasized.
